Test package for Duke Nukem Forever

Instead of using the left stick state to compute movement (the standard way), DNF is using events.

As a result, there is no more movement if the left stick is kept in a position. This is due to the fact that the sixaxis emulator doesn’t flood the PS3 with useless events like a real sixaxis. If there is nothing to send, an event is only sent after 1s so as to keep the connection alive…

I built a test package for DNF players: link (i386).

  1. Sounds like yet another reason to try for full sixaxis emulation; as long as this project is trying to simulate unsupported controllers, it is going to have problems with games that are written for Sony controllers.

  2. There also are good reasons not to (higher axis precisions or higher report rates).

This behavior regarding the player movement is not standard at all. Game developers should be blamed for that.

But yeah, I will keep improving compatibility on the controller side. I know you are expecting a usb sixaxis emulation, be sure I will work on that asap.
